⚠️ RESIDENT UPDATE: MAJOR POWER OUTAGE MAY AFFECT WATER SUPPLY Dear Residents, City Power has confirmed a major electricity outage following a failure at the Orlando Switching Station, affecting several areas across Johannesburg. *Importantly, the outage has also interrupted electricity supply to Rand Water’s pumping operations, with the Eikenhof pumping station now offline. This may have a knock-on effect on water supply and pressure in affected areas.* Residents are therefore urged to use water sparingly and, where possible, ensure that household water tanks or other reserves are filled while supply remains available. City Power has dispatched teams to investigate the fault and determine the extent of the failure. At this stage, no restoration time has been confirmed. I will continue monitoring the situation and will provide residents with further updates as information becomes available.
