Shocking… People are STILL voting for the current leadership, yet we are experiencing so much under them. Vote them out! We need change. We need to stand up — NOW. Because honestly, I think we are just being taken advantage of. You want a damn joke? Look at this government… and yet we still go back and vote for them. I have a R24,000 lights and water bill. We didn’t have the money to pay the entire amount or make an arrangement, so we have been paying something every month towards it. By the third month, the municipality was already ready to cut everything off. I even had an arrogant municipal official standing in my driveway, screaming at me: “Why are you not paying your bill?” Seriously? Maybe the problem with us is that we are too content. We just shut up and pay. Go to the rural areas. Go to Inanda, KwaMashu… there are people who live without paying these bills, and the municipality isn’t rushing there to cut anything off. Yet those of us who are genuinely trying to pay, even if we can’t settle the full amount at once, are treated like criminals. Something needs to change. We cannot keep accepting this. We need to speak up. We need accountability. We need fair treatment. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
