TSHWANE METRO POLICE DEPARTMENT (TMPD) ARRESTED IMPOSTER FOR DEFRAUDING MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC The TMPD Civilian Internal Affairs (CIA) Unit has arrested a 48-year-old female suspect for impersonating a City of Tshwane official on Thursday, 03 September 2026 at the TMPD 24-Hour Offices at 11 Frances Baard in Pretoria Central. The suspect was caught red-handed after deceiving members of the public by falsely claiming she could clear traffic infringement notices at a discounted rate and register vehicles on the eNaTIS system. The TMPD condemns such unlawful activities and emphasizes that neither City of Tshwane officials nor TMPD personnel are authorized to offer reduced fees or discounts. The public is urged to verify the identity of individuals claiming to represent the municipality to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes. The suspect is facing charges of fraud and impersonation of a municipal official. The TMPD management commends the officers involved in the arrest and encourages anyone who has been affected by similar scams or possesses information on fraudulent activities to report it immediately to the TMPD or the nearest police station.
