WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION NOTICE Date: 10 September 2026 The Newcastle Municipality wishes to inform residents of water supply interruptions currently affecting Newcastle East and West. The interruptions are as a result of scheduled maintenance by Eskom, which has compromised power supply to critical municipal water infrastructure. The Ngagane Water Treatment Plant has been affected, resulting in water supply disruptions in the following areas: - Lennoxton - Newcastle CBD - Newcastle Hospital - Newcastle Private Hospital - Dialysis Clinic - Madadeni - Osizweni - Blaaubosch Our Technical Services Team has been on site since the early hours of the morning attending to the matter. Water restoration will commence once sufficient water levels have been attained at the reservoirs and treatment plant. As an interim remedial measure, municipal water tankers will be dispatched to the affected areas starting with health and public facilities. Residents are kindly advised to: - Use water sparingly and store water for essential use only; - Keep taps closed to prevent water loss when supply is restored; and - Allow water to run for a short period after restoration, as water may be temporarily discoloured. The Municipality sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience and understanding of all affected residents.
