EMPD officers have rescued a 21-year-old man who was reportedly kidnapped in Ivory Park and arrested two male suspects today. It is revealed that the officers received information from a concerned community member who alleged that he witnessed two males kidnapping someone in Ivory Park. The informant provided the officers with the location where the victim was allegedly being held. The police responded swiftly and proceeded to a house in Extension 15 Ivory Park, where they pounced on two suspects and rescued twenty-one-year-old male victim. Further search of the property led to the discovery of a black 9mm z88 unlicensed firearm. The victim further alleged that he was pointed with a firearm during his kidnapping and held captive since Wednesday night. Both suspects were arrested and are facing charges of kidnapping, pointing of firearm and possession of unlicensed firearm. They are expected to appear before the Tembisa Magistrate Court soon. The EMPD has commended the community member for providing timely information, which enabled officers to respond swiftly and secure the safe release of the victim.
