PLANNED MAINTENANCE: SCHOENMAKERSKOP PUMP STATION 07 September 2026 The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality wishes to inform residents of a planned 24-hour shutdown and urgent maintenance intervention at the Schoenmakerskop Pump Station on Tuesday, 8 September 2026. The essential maintenance works are aimed at improving the long-term reliability of the water supply system and incorporating a standby pump set into the existing infrastructure. While reservoirs have been replenished to maximum operational capacity ahead of the planned shutdown, any unforeseen extension beyond the scheduled 24-hour maintenance period may result in temporary water supply interruptions within the Emerald Hill Reservoir Zone. The affected areas include: 📍 Walmer 📍 Glen Hurd 📍 Newton Park 📍 Schauderville 📍 Mangold Park 📍 Greenacres 📍 Perridgevale 📍 Adcockvale 📍 Parsons Hill 📍 Glendinningvale 📍 Mill Park 📍 Linkside 📍 Mount Croix 📍 Richmond Hill 📍 High-lying areas of Central Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to use water sparingly and make provision for their immediate needs during the maintenance period. The Municipality appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation as these critical interventions are undertaken to strengthen the reliability and resilience of the Metro’s water supply system.
