Lost & Found
𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗔 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗬? 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗥𝗘𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗔 𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗬🏡 Finding a stray animal can leave you wondering what to do next. First of all, thank you for stopping and caring. ❤️ That animal may not be homeless. Somewhere, there could be a devastated family desperately searching for them. 🚨 𝗜𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗟 𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗝𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗗 Please contact the Cape of Good Hope SPCA immediately on 021 700 4158/9. Our Inspectorate is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for animals in distress. 🐶 𝗜𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗦 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛𝗬 Contact City of Cape Town Law Enforcement on 021 480 7700 / 107 for assistance with a healthy stray animal. If you are able to safely contain the animal while trying to locate their family, keep them somewhere quiet, secure and calm, and make sure they have access to fresh water. 🔎 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 𝗨𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗥 𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗬 Complete our Lost and Found form so we can check whether someone has already reported the animal missing. One of the most important steps is also one of the easiest: get them scanned for a microchip. Any veterinary practice or animal welfare facility can scan the animal free of charge. A tiny chip could contain the information needed to turn a missing pet into a joyful reunion. ⚖️ REMEMBER: FOUND DOESN'T MEAN YOURS Finders are required to report a stray animal within 24 hours. Reporting found animals is essential to supporting reunification efforts and giving their families the opportunity to find them. Please don't assume an animal has been abandoned simply because they're wandering alone. Someone may be looking for them right now. 💙 Stop. Secure. Scan. Report. Reunite.
