[STOLEN BAKKIE INTERCEPTED ON N12 AS TWO SUSPECTS ARE ARRESTED] Two suspects, aged 25 and 28, were arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning, 03 September 2026, for possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle, near Bloemhof. Members of the Rapid Rail Unit were conducting an operation at approximately 01:45 when they noticed a suspicious white bakkie travelling on the N12 road between Bloemhof towards Wolmaransstad. The members followed the vehicle and intercepted it. Upon inspection, police found two occupants, who were allegedly unable to produce valid documentation permitting them to be in the country. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle identification number (VIN) did not correspond with the registration number displayed on the vehicle. The VIN was circulated, and it was established that the vehicle had been reported stolen in a case registered at Randfontein. NP
